One is through material satisfaction, by providing tangible rewards.

Another is through nonmaterial satisfaction by providing intangible rewards. A balanced mix of motivational tools is significant to serve its purpose. That is to satisfy the idea that motivation increases productivity. Extrinsic motivation is commonly practiced by most organizations to boost performance. It involves the provision of an attractive compensation and benefits package.

This includes salary, health and personal insurance, and bonuses. There are also performance credits given in the form of a quarterly bonus, performance bonuses, gift checks, paid vacation, etc.

Intrinsic motivation is simple and practical. It is an advisable practice to bring out the best in every employee. It can be done through providing effective systems for promotion, training and development, and recognition. The act of praising employees for a job well done is one way to do so. These are priceless tools to motivate them because employees are more motivated if what they are doing interests them. This is much more beneficial if the task delegated to the employee coincides with his interests.

Quantitative and Qualitative Productivity

Standards are set to align performance. They comprise objectives against which actual output is compared. There are two prominent performance measures. These are quantitative and qualitative evaluation methods. Both measures are inimical to the assessment procedures. As motivation increases productivity, the latter should be gauged accordingly.

Quantitative measure is done with the aid of statistical and numerical tools. These entail some calculations to arrive at a rate or percentage. The results are then interpreted as either acceptable or not acceptable. Favorable performance is either at par or above par. Unfavourable performance is obviously below par. This is likely reliable, being objective in nature.

Qualitative measure is done through testimonials. There are many sources to consider such as customers, co-workers, and the immediate head. Their statements are relevant to the expected functions of the employees found at the job description and specification. This is subjective in nature; careful scrutiny is advised.

No doubt, motivation increases productivity. It is but critical to upkeep consistency in the provision of extrinsic and intrinsic rewards for consistent performance.

Source : http://www.brighthub.com/office/home/articles/83187.aspx

How To Motivate Your Employees Without Money: 3 Employee Motivation Techniques That Work Like Magic

How To Motivate Your Employees Without Money: 3 Employee Motivation Techniques That Work Like Magic

Now that we have an economic crisis looming above our heads, learning how to motivate your employees without money becomes more important than ever. Doing this can help you improve the overall performance of your employees. It will encourage them to work ever harder and strive for the company’s goals.

So do you want to know how to motivate your employees without money? Here are a few ideas that are worth checking out.

1) There are other things equally, or more, important than money.

Perhaps the first thing you have to do is to instill the belief that money is not all that. Encourage charity among your people. After all, there are more important things in life at stake. A company that has solid values will get very far. Encourage values such as service, trust and hard work.

Those who show exemplary values should be rewarded. Not by money, because that will defeat the purpose, but by other things. Say a medal, trophy or certificate of achievement or recognition. These things don’t have to cost much, but they will be treasured by the recipient because they appeal to the employee’s ego.

2) Be one with them.

Another way on how to motivate your employees without money is by being an example of hard work and resilience. If you’re a supermarket manager, for example, you can always dedicate a few hours of your time making rounds and helping customers get what they want.

Don’t use your position to lord over your employees. That’s not going to motivate them to perform better. In fact, that will only drive them to do worse. Instead, show them that you’re not embarrassed to do what they’re doing. Instill a bit of pride in their work by not hesitating to help a customer out yourself.

3) Praise work well done.

When employees are praised, they generally feel better about themselves and about their situation. Don’t be afraid to tell your cashier that he or she is doing a good job. Don’t hold back when your employees show dedication to their work.

A lot of companies have weekly meetings so why don’t you use these meetings to acknowledge jobs that are well done? Believe me. Small words of encouragement go a long way.

If you want to know how to motivate your employees without money, you’re going to have to appeal to the other things that they hold dear. Make sure to emphasize positive values, promote cooperation, serve as a good example and acknowledge work that is well done. When you do this, employees will do everything in their power to perform better.

How To Motivate Your Employees To The Max

How To Motivate Your Employees To The Max

Article employee motivation,employee motivation program,employee motivation reward,employee motivation theory,employee motivation poster,employee game motivation,employee motivation survey,employee motivation technique

Today's fast-moving business environment demands that the effective manager be both a well-organized administrator and highly adept in understanding people's basic needs and behaviour in the workplace. Gaining commitment, nurturing talent, and ensuring employee motivation and productivity require open communication and trust between managers and staff.

1. Understand their behaviour

People at work naturally tend to adopt instinctive modes of behaviour that are self-protective rather than open and collaborative. This explains why emotion is a strong force in the workplace and why management often reacts violently to criticisms and usually seeks to control rather than take risks. So, in order to eliminate this kind of perspective and to increase employee motivation, it is best that you influence behaviour rather than to change personalities. Insisting what you expect from your employees will only worsen the situation.

2. Be sure that people's lower-level needs are met.

People have various kinds of needs. Examples of lower-level needs are salary, job security, and working conditions. In order to increase employee motivation, you have to meet these basic needs. Consequently, failures with basic needs nearly always explain dissatisfaction among staff. Satisfaction, on the other hand, springs from meeting higher-level needs, such as responsibility progress, and personal growth. When satisfaction is met, chances are employee motivation is at hand.

3. Encourage pride

People need to feel that their contribution is valued and unique. If you are a manager, seek to exploit this pride in others, and be proud of your own ability to handle staff with positive results. This, in turn, will encourage employee motivation among your people.

4. Listen carefully

In many areas of a manager's job, from meetings and appraisals to telephone calls, listening plays a key role. Listening encourages employee motivation and, therefore, benefits both you and your staff. So make an effort to understand people's attitudes by careful listening and questioning and by giving them the opportunity to express themselves.

5. Build confidence

Most people suffer from insecurity at some time. The many kinds of anxiety that affect people in organizations can feed such insecurity, and insecurity impedes employee motivation. Your antidote, therefore, is to build confidence by giving recognition, high-level tasks, and full information. In doing so, you only not refurbish employee motivation but boost productivity as well.

6. Encourage contact

Many managers like to hide away behind closed office doors, keeping contact to a minimum. That makes it easy for an administrator, but hard to be a leader. It is far better to keep your office door open and to encourage people to visit you when the door is open. Go out of your way to chat to staff on an informal basis. Keep in mind that building rapport with your staff will effectively increase employee motivation.

7. Use the strategic thinking of all employees.

It is very important to inform people about strategic plans and their own part in achieving the strategies. Take trouble to improve their understanding and to win their approval, as this will have a highly positive influence on performance and increasing employee motivation as well.

8. Develop trust

The quality and style of leadership are major factors in gaining employee motivation and trust. Clear decision making should be coupled with a collaborative, collegiate approach. This entails taking people into your confidence and explicitly and openly valuing their contributions. By simply giving your staff the opportunity to show that you can trust them is enough to increase employee motivation among them.

9. Delegate decisions

Pushing the power of decision-making downward reduces pressure on senior management. It motivates people on the lower levels because it gives them a vote of confidence. Also, because the decision is taken nearer to the point of action, it is more likely to be correct. Consequently, by encouraging them to choose their own working methods, make decisions, and giving them responsibility for meeting the agreed goal will encourage employee motivation among your staff.

10. Appraising to motivate

When choosing methods of assessing your staff's performance, always make sure that the end result has a positive effect on employee motivation and increases people's sense of self-worth. Realistic targets, positive feedback, and listening are key factors.

If you follow these simple steps in increasing employee motivation, rest assured you will have a good working relationship with your staff at the same time boost you company's productivity. Just bear in mind that people are employed to get good results for the company. Their rates of success are intrinsically linked to how they are directed, reviewed, rewarded, trusted, and motivated by the management.

How to Motivate Your Employees to Full Potential

The purpose of this article is to provide employers with five different ways to keep your employees motivated and bring greater success to your business:

1) Make sure you provide your employees with options. Try and remember that you are working with individuals. This means that each individual has their own set of talents that they bring to the table. They also bring a multitude of different intelligences, and as an employer your duty is to utilize these. By giving employees the option to work within their own talents, an employer can focus on a successful plan of action. Employees want to be successful and feel as if they add to the company. Figuring out what they are best at and giving them options to work within these fields of success will allow the employee to become intrinsically motivated towards attaining realistic goals.

2) Encourage personal development. If a company provides its employees with the ability to grow within said company, the employee will feel as if they are a productive part of a bigger whole. By providing your employees with a chance to develop, you are not only helping them stay competitive, you are also keeping your company competitive.

3) Let your employees know how you feel. Sometimes we lack communication in our work environment and this can be a cancer that steals the life from your company. Talk to your employees and remember that there is always a positive spin. If your intention is to correct a mistake, explain the mistake that was made and reinforce it with a positive solution. Communication is the base of any successful business!

4) Keep expectations clear. Part of being a good communicator is clearly defining what is expected of each individual employee. If an employee is unclear about what they are required to do, they may not ask for fear of being looked upon as inadequate. By clearly defining their role within your business and allowing them to clarify anything at all, you utilize the power of positive communication.

5) Be positive. Your mood as a manger will reflect greatly upon your employees. By staying positive and reflecting a positive attitude within your daily tasks while working with employees, you act as a guiding light and they will follow. Make sure you arrive at work with a good attitude. Nothing can be more destructive to a company then a manager that is constantly in a negative mood. Lead by example and you will set the tone for a productive and successful work environment. Remember to smile!

By acknowledging that you are in control of those around you there is a responsibility that you have to each of your employees. Creating a positive work environment lets everyone know that you support them, and this will inevitably lead to motivated employees and productivity.

Tips How to Motivate Your Employees

Tips How to Motivate Your Employees

As a manager strides into the office among the staff, he has the power to positively shift the outlook of the employee for the entire day.

Words, gestures, even the expression on your face spell the difference in how an employee perceives your opinion of them. These unconscious actions tell the employee what they mean to you and how valuable they are to you as a manager and to the organization.

Letting the employee feel needed and appreciated is a key factor to maintaining maximum employee morale and motivation. If your employees feel that they play a key role in the company by the work they provide, then they are much more likely to say that they like their job and to strive to better themselves at that job. For many, feeling valued is just as important as high pay, and promotions.

Let's build zest with these tactics:

1.Let them feel your presence. Coming to work and announcing your arrival is a great way to motivate employees and get them upbeat on the first hour of the day. Striding through the doors and simply saying good morning with a smile on your face can make all the difference in the world.

2. Verbal Acknowledgement. This kind of commendation doesn't have to be over dramatic or exaggerated, most times showing respect for your employees by saying simple things like please and thank you are easy and effective ways to motivate your employees.Praise like "you did a great job" when the employee deserves it is sure fire way that verbal praise can work to motivate employees.

3. Lay clear expectations. Communicating deadlines, milestones, and job objectives are essential to completing company mandates efficiently. Sometimes these things are reported very well but they may change. These changes may not be discussed in detail and therefore causes employees to feel that they are either not important enough to be told why the changes are taking place, or that the manager has made a mistake. Neither of these thoughts will lead to a motivated employee. One way to prevent this is to always get some kind of feedback from the employee about the job so that you are certain that he knows what is expected. If there is a change in a project, inform the employee why. Keep them part of the solution to the problem.

4. Provide employees regular feedback. Let the employee know when he is doing a commendable job. On the flip side, let the employee know when you are not pleased with the outcome and state your reasons. This is a great opportunity to let the employee know how they can do better next time. Ask the employee if there is anything that you as a manager can do to help with the change. Solicit feedback from the employee. Talk it over and enjoy a real discussion. This will make the employee feel like you are not offend about the job, but that you are genuinely concerned and willing to help rectify the problem.

5. Generate consequences. Make sure to not only tell the employee when you are satisfied with the work, but also provide recognition for marvelous work. A personally written thank you card is an effective and inexpensive way to do this. When an employee fails to meet company expectations, it is demotivating to other workers, after all, they may think, "If he isn't doing it why should I?" That is why it is so important to broadcast consequences for those who do not perform as expected. Be consistent with consequences among the staff.

Employees will love working with you and you will enjoy working with them as you take a few minutes out of your day to butter their emotions. Spend time with employees during and after work. Demonstrate that you care and value them as important members of the company.

How To Motivate Your Employee On Autopilot

How To Motivate Your Employee On Autopilot.

Although it is not suggested that you interfere or pry into the private lives of your employee, but it will work for you if you know your employee as an individual. What this knowledge will do is it will let you understand your employee and in turn, what motivates him/her. Try to know about their family, background, hobbies etc to name a few, which will give an idea about there values and interests. After you know something about what the employee wants at the present or in the future, especially out of his/her job, then motivating the person through them would be much easier.

As an employer, you are required to be innovative to get your employees to work better under motivation. To learn these ways is to learn a lot therefore you can study online on how to motivate them or you can do a crash course in a private HR firm on employee motivation and acceleration. You got to keep finding innovative ways to make your employees more productive through innovation to keep boredom at bay.

You must think by putting yourself in the shoes of your employee, think what he/she may want out of the job. Many employees join a job with a wish to rise to ranks rather quickly, encourage such an interest by setting possibilities of promotion within the reach of the employees. Circulation in the different branches or sections of the company can also work in your favor as far as employee motivation is concerned. If your employees are confident that you as their employer know about what they want and also care about it, then their work performance is likely to improve.

Make your employees feel that they are a part of the company and therefore talk with them, let them express their opinions and ideas with you. Ask how their life is and simply how is everybody every once in a while to make them feel more comfortable. Informal and individual conversations are a good way to motivate as well. Performance reviews will let you discuss about it with your employees and thus arrange them when you can.

To make an employee feel like he/she is part of the organization is one of the biggest challenge and the best way for motivating him/her on autopilot. To do that, you should be as clear about what is going on in the company as possible because if you keep secrets, the employee would feel left out even if it does not concern him/her directly. Hold meetings when an important matter comes up, hold them periodically even if something does not come up just to keep all the employees updated on the company and its condition. Involve all your employees and ask for their suggestions and thoughts if your company is going to go through some serious policy changes or facing a problem. Inform and prepare your employees so that they make the right impression when a higher officer of the company comes to visit.

About The Employee

The employee are hired of the employer after an application and consultation action results inwards his or her choice for an employee. Employee leasing are alike to the process of employing temporary workers, only the key out difference are permanency. Employee Engagement is the extent to which workforce commitment, both emotional and intellectual, exists relative to accomplishing the work, mission, and vision of the organization.
Employee care because an philosophy struggles to detect its place in a sustained personal manner in all this, though most organizations would like to believe that they do care for their people.

Employee developing is a joint, on-going effort on the part of an employee and the organization for which he or she works to acclivity the employee's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Employee Relations involves the body of work concerned on maintaining employer-employee human relationship* that contribute to satisfactory productivity, motivating, and morale. Employee turnover is a ratio comparison of the number of employees a company must replace in a given time period to the average number of total employees. A huge concern to most companies, employee turnover is a costly expense especially in lower paying job roles, for which the employee turnover rate is highest. The jockey can do all he or she wants, but that horse is not going anywhere.

Now think about your position as a manger. Do you share in the pain that this jockey feels? Do you have staff members who are not motivated? It seems like they only do what they need to do to keep their job…if that. Delegating a critical project to them would be a grave mistake unless you don’t want it to get done.

You cannot motivate your staff, yet they are motivated for their own reasons. Understanding how each staff member is motivated can be the difference between the horse in the stable and the horse that wins the Kentucky Derby.

There are four types of staff people when it comes to motivation: Carrie Control, Robert Recognition, Susan Security, and Andy Accuracy.

Carrie Control. How do we motivate her? She often seems to overstep her boundaries. In meetings, she has checked out to the point that she brings other work with her…work that isn’t even job related. She runs the other people over on your staff. And she is very angry. Everyone has learned not to mess with her. It seems like Carrie Control has one thing on her mind…goals. But not company goals. Her goals.

When Carrie was hired, she was an all-star contributor. She got more done than anyone else. She worked long, hard hours. She was the first in the office and the last one out. These days, she is far from that. How do we motivate Carrie Control?

The way to motivate Carrie Control is to give her what she wants. She wants control. If you give her control, she will become the winning horse at the Kentucky Derby. If you take it away from her, she will be the horse in the stable.

Practical ways of giving Carrie what she wants (control) are the following: authority, varied activities, prestige, freedom, assignments promoting growth, “bottom-line” approach, and most importantly, opportunity for advancement.

If you are curious why Carrie Control become such a resistant, unmotivated employee, it is because of the following two reasons: She either had been taken advantage of, or she experienced loss of control. Guard those things and make sure that she doesn’t experience them.

Robert Recognition. How do we motivate him? He often yells or talks about people behind their back. He doesn’t work. He is busy talking. He can turn the work place against you…and it isn’t pleasant. He can be cutting or insulting and say it in a way that you can’t respond. It seems like Robert Recognition has one thing on his mind…talk. He would rather talk than work on company goals.

When Robert Recognition was hired, he was an all-star contributor. He inspired people to work hard. He communicated the vision of the department and was instrumental in getting everyone on the same page. These days, he is far from that. How do we motivate Robert Recognition?

The way to motivate Robert Recognition is to give him what he wants. He wants recognition. If you give him recognition, he will become the winning horse at the Kentucky Derby. If you take it away from him, he will be the horse in the stable.

Practical ways of giving Robert what he wants (recognition) are the following: social esteem and acceptance, freedom from details and control, people to talk to, positive working conditions, recognition for abilities, and opportunities to motivate and influence others.

If you are curious why Robert Recognition became such a resistant, unmotivated employee, it is because of the following two reasons: He either had experienced rejection or loss of social approval. Guard those things and make sure that he doesn’t experience them.

Susan Security. How do we motivate her? She passive aggressively resists doing work. She comes up with excuses on why she can’t do something. She calls in sick often…maybe too often. She will agree outwardly to take on responsibilities, but she inwardly yields and doesn’t complete the task. She is a yes-man. She says yes, but doesn’t follow through. She doesn’t give effort to company goals.

When Susan Security was hired, she was an all-star contributor. She developed relationships on the team. She was easily counted on to get things done. She was great at following through. She developed positive relationships with the rest of the team. She supported your team goals. These days, she is far from that. How do we motivate Susan Security?

The way to motivate Susan Security is to give her what she wants. She wants security. If you give her security, she will become the winning horse at the Kentucky Derby. If you take it away from her, she will be the horse in the stable.

Practical ways of giving Susan what she wants (security) are the following: security in all situations, sincere appreciate, repeated work patterns, time to adjust to change, limited territories of responsibilities, identification in a group, and areas of specialization.

If you are curious why Susan Security became such a resistant, unmotivated employee, it is because of the following two reasons: She either experienced loss of security or was placed in an environment of confrontation. Guard those things and make sure that she doesn’t experience them.

Andy Accuracy. How do we motivate him? He is doesn’t get on board with working towards your goals. He comes up with every possible reason why your initiatives won’t work. He withdraws from the office. Mentally, Andy isn’t there. He is very critical of your work as well as others on the team. He is slow to get things done because he is stuck on the details. It seems like Andy tries to be really slow so that your department can’t reach its goals.

When Andy Accuracy was hired, he was an all-star contributor. He was the quality control guy who made sure everything your department put out looked great with no errors. He solved problems to which no one else could find solutions. You could always count on Andy’s output to be of highest excellence. These days, he is far from that. How do we motivate Andy Accuracy?

The way to motivate Andy Accuracy is to give him what he wants. He wants accuracy. If you give him accuracy, he will become the winning horse at the Kentucky Derby. If you take it away from him, he will become the horse in the stable.

Practical ways of giving Andy what he wants (accuracy) are the following: autonomy and independence, controlled work environment, reassurance, precise expectations and goals, exact job descriptions, and planned change.

If you are curious why Andy Accuracy became such a resistant, unmotivated employee, it is because of the following two reasons: He either experienced criticism of his work or there was a change without data to support the change. Guard those things and make sure that he doesn’t experience them.

If you can give Carrie Control, Robert Recognition, Susan Security, and Andy Accuracy what they need, you are going to have a winning team. If you don’t and they begin to experience the opposite, your team will not get anywhere…because they are still in the stable.

How A Business Motivational Speaker Can Motivate Your Employees

How A Business Motivational Speaker Can Motivate Your Employees

Any endeavor in business needs motivation. Highly motivated employees of a company can improve the bottom line of any company. Unmotivated or dull employees can pose a serious threat to the existence of the company and it's the responsibility of the management to keep them motivated all the time. Though lots of effort is made, most of the times they go in vain.

There are many professional motivational speakers who employ unique methods to motivate the employees through motivational speaking workshops and interactive motivational presentations while imparting business goals of the company in a fun way. Most of the companies these days hire good motivational speakers to be as emcees and speakers in corporate events.

Motivational speakers just don't educate the audience, apart from imparting business goals, they make connection between people and the company using their own tried and trusted methods in a way that the message reaches in their minds. The best business motivational speaker is the one who can influence the employees and change the way they thing about the company and work.

A true business motivational speaker is a true Business Rock star. He/she has the ability to bring out the energy from the audiences and make them scream like those who watch a rock show. He/she brings true rock concert energy to any event, conference or themed party so that the attendees are not just listeners of what the host says, but active participants and that is what the goal of the event is is.

A true business rock star is just not a motivational speaker, but also a peak performance coach, edu-tainer, musical entertainer, performer, humorist, favorite front man, master of ceremonies, interactive emcee, team building leader, event master, energy expert, guitar hero host, character actor and disc jockey. He/she will act as a true entertainer or the "glue" to the event so that the attendees are glued to the event enthusiastically.

Motivational speaking has become one of the most important aspects of any event where he/she inspires the attendees and makes them more involved in the ensuing core event. As most of the companies conduct some kind of a meeting every month, many companies are hiring motivational speakers to make the parties more fun as well as productive. Though you might think your leaders could try to do it, professionals can't be beaten as they are multi-faceted and experts in many fields to convincingly entertain the people while imparting the core message.

Helpful Tips to Motivate your Employees

Helpful Tips to Motivate your Employees

If you have a business approach which is people-friendly and focuses on your customers’ needs, your clients’ pleasure will be sufficient motivation for your employees to keep up their good work.
• It would be best to start from the very beginning. There is no way you can inspire them if you do not teach them the fundamentals of business. To ensure that their basics are aright, you have to promise them sufficient financial incentives. Also make sure the conditions of work and atmosphere within the office are conducive to a healthy working environment. How can you be sure of this? Just ask your employees if they like the situation and implement whatever changes they suggest in order to motivate them.

• Besides the overall working environment and conditions, there is another area which you should ensure is pleasant to your employees. Find out if they like working there, how they feel when they interact with other employees who are in a higher position, etc. You should encourage your employees to have an open, trusting relationship with you (the boss) and other employees. No one should feel uncomfortable while in the office – this is a very basic fact. If relationships between employees are strained, they won’t feel motivated.

• It is extremely important that all nitty-gritty is sorted out to establish a smooth working environment. Since this is your company, it is your job to ensure that your employees have the optimum conditions to give their best to the job. You should interact with them in a personal level. Knowing that the boss actually cares about how each one works will stimulate them to work harder and better. After all the basics of the job have been settled, make sure that you allow your employees to give you their feedback about the changes in the office. Just take it slowly, taking up one issue at a time. Hurrying through the business will not work.

• After getting the general things sorted out, it is time to connect on a personal level with your employees. Talk to each and learn more about their personalities, what they like about the work they do, their preferences, their strong points. This personal interest will motivate them no end.

• Do not let your employees get stagnated in their jobs as this is the surefire way to demoralize them. They will feel that no one appreciates them for their creativity and potential. You should give your employees tasks which challenge them intellectually and creatively. Excite them, and thus motivate them as they look forward to a challenge at work every day.
In order to satisfy the wants of your employees, you should ask them what kind of work they want to do, and what they think will be enough of a challenge for them. Every person will respond differently to your personal interactions with them, so you need to notice how you interact with each. You could also try raft-building, paint-balling and away-days to engender team spirit and motivation.

Franchising Tip: Motivate Your Employees!

Franchising Tip: Motivate Your Employees!

Buying a franchise is a great way to become a business owner. In becoming a business owner you will have to learn and practice many different skills to be successful versus just being an employee. In reality you will most likely be transitioning from an employee to an owner/manager. This may actually be able to help you since you still remember what is like to be an employee. Whether you are a new franchisee or have been one for some time knowing how to motivate your employees will be a critical part running your franchise and becoming successful!

For starters, remember back to when you were an employee for someone else. Think about your favorite job and where you felt you did your best. Chances are that time that you are remembering is when you had an outstanding manager who knew how to motivate his/her employee's.

The reason that you want to motivate your employees is so that they can be successful as well as yourself. A person who is happy and feels needed and challenged will produce a greater quality of work than one who isn't. Also, if you never do anything fun, as a team or never encourage your employees they will not see a point in doing a good job for you. So, keep all of your employees motivated!

If you are unsure of exactly how to motivate your employees here a few suggestions:

The easiest way is to show them recognition and attention for doing a good job. Everyone wants to know that they are doing well, especially from their manager. Using specific praise is a great way to show you recognize them and their efforts!

Provide ongoing training for your employees! Keeping your employees current with what is happening and knowing what they are doing can provide for a great sense of security for them and will provide better outcomes for your franchise if everyone knows what they are doing.

Also provide a clear career path for all employees. Make sure that they know they can go somewhere with your franchise. When they know there is room to grow they will consistently try to make themselves a better asset to your franchise. It is a win-win situation for you both.

A good work environment is a must! Almost everyone feels that the work environment plays a key role in how employees feel about their place of work. Keeping it honest, safe, clean, and stable is a good way to keep your employees motivated.

Be at team. This is one of the best ways to motivate your employees. Feeling like part of a team is important; you could have pictures made or work together to support a good cause, something like a food drive. At one job I had, we had hot dog stands to raise money for different charities, schools or other community issues. It was a great way to work as a team and do something good for the community!

You may also consider doing some type of snack or lunch for everyone. It may be just because or because of the good efforts of everyone on the team to accomplish something. It is a nice gesture on your part and really lets your employees know you care!

You may also decide to have small contests with your employees. As a manager once I had a selling contest for a small item that was one sale and gave a prize to the person who sold the most each day. Not only did the employees have a good time, the customers were smiling and we sold more of that item than ever before.

These are only a few ways to motivate your employees, there are many more. So, use these ideas and more to keep your employees motivated!

Four Ways To Motivate Your Employees

Four Ways To Motivate Your Employees

There is no particular set of rules that one should follow in motivating employees. We each have our own driving force when it comes to doing an excellent job at work. A working mother could be motivated by her children, who serve as her inspiration to succeed. A trainee who is fresh out of college is motivated by the compulsion to learn and climb to the top. A long-time company employee will get motivated to perform well so that he or she can be promoted. Others are motivated by financial rewards. As a manager, team leader, department head or supervisor, you need to determine the individual driving forces of those who are in your team so that you can create a motivated workforce.

1. Goals For Employee Motivation:

- Increase employee performance at work
- Spice up team spirit and build a cohesive team
- Eliminate individual differences and avoid conflicts
- Have an open communication between peers
- Set and achieve a common goal

2. Lead By Example

There is one joke where it says that the new definition of a boss is one who is always early when you are late and who is always late when you are not. Do not let this apply to you. Be consistent. The simple gesture of arriving before or as the same time as your employees will show them how much you value their time and yours. This is also a good way of showing employees that you respect the company that pays you for your time at work. If you do come in late, apologize to those who are under you and explain why you are late. This is so that they would not think that the no-late policy does not apply to the boss, showing them that you are equals when it comes to company rules and policies.

2. Keep Communication Lines Open

Some employees are afraid to talk to, or even look at superiors who exude the touch-me-not aura. This is not a good way to motivate your employees. When you come to work, do not just go straight to your office and deal with your paper works. Mingle with the employees and ask them about their previous day, on what they have accomplished so far. Then you can tell them about the output that you expect by the end of the day. This way, you would know what to expect from the employees and vice-versa. It will not only help you set a goal for the day but with this, you are also optimizing your interaction with the employees by mingling with them on a more casual basis.

3. Share What You Know

Do not be selfish. Sometimes, a company does not grow because there are employees who know something advanced about the industry or a certain aspect of the company, and they are not willing to share their knowledge to others. They think that this would make them invaluable to the company, especially if they are the only ones who know about a particular process or idea. This attitude would not help your company succeed. There should always be a sharing of knowledge. When an employee is asked to train abroad, they are often asked to sign a contract that they should not resign for the next year or two. Why do you think this is so? Imagine what would happen if the employee who trained abroad or attended an exclusive seminar about an advanced technology on the industry just up and leaves right after the training. A company would not spend thousands of dollars to train an employee for nothing. They want you to share and impart the knowledge to your fellow employees. If you share a new technology to your entire team, who knows what newer and better ideas the knowledge would bring? Do not stutter the company's growth by keeping your ideas to yourself.

4. Implement Your Ideas

What good would a new idea or technology do if you do not apply it? After sharing the knowledge, gather the team and think of ways to improve the company's operation with what you all have learned. As a leader, you should be a people person. You must know how to adopt to the things that motivate your team members and use this knowledge to your advantage. Without a good and solid workforce behind you, you will not accomplish anything. You may have ten or a hundred employees, but if you apply these steps to motivate your team, you can bring out the best in them and contribute towards your company's growth and success.

Employee Motivation Through Employee Tracking How?

Employee Motivation Through Employee Tracking How?

Generally what happens in most organizations, each and every employee has got few projects to work on but no body knows what exactly is going on with that employee. If you need to give them the incentives and benefits, do so, in order for you to get the results you want from them.

Thus Due to proper employee tracking software an organization can boost up their employees morale and can get high quality performances in return from their employees

Are You Worried About Motivating Top Employees During a Down Economy?

Are You Worried About Motivating Top Employees During a Down Economy?

If you're not worried, maybe you should be. In a down economy, the core and bottom performers hunker down, fearful of leaving familiar territory, but your top 20% are still getting calls from recruiters and lucrative offers from competitors or even from other recession-resistant industries trolling for talent.

So what motivates key talent during a tough economy? It comes down to five things every leader and business owner can do. You should be doing all five on an ongoing basis, but particularly now.

1. Does each top performer and high potential leader know that, in fact, he or she is considered a top performer and/or high potential leader? In many companies, there are no formal programs to identify and develop high potential talent, so how can they know they are high potential if no one tells them? I can't count the number of times I have had confidential conversations with high potential leaders and have nearly fallen out of my chair when I realized that they had no idea that their boss saw them as high potential. Some people overestimate their talent, but others underestimate it. Never assume they just "know."

2. Are you ensuring a good mix of stretch assignments, formal development (training, coaching, etc.), and exposure to key decision-makers across the business? High performers and high potentials give a lot and they ask a lot in return. They appreciate an employer who invests time and money in their growth and they leave those who don't. Ninety-seven percent of coaches are hired by individuals. I am routinely contacted by go-getters who want to get ahead and are willing to invest their own money because their employers won't invest in them. It will come as no surprise that, to a person, these highly motivated initiative-takers have already decided to leave their current employer to find one that will take their ambitions seriously and support their growth with actions, not just words.

3. Do you recognize their work? If your company is too large for you to personally recognize each star employee's work, what are you doing to ensure that your managers recognize excellent work and never commit the ultimate sin of taking credit for their subordinates' work? No leader has ever said to me, "I take credit for my subordinates' work." It's the subordinates who tell me it's happening. But take extra care here, because even the overuse of the word "we" can be a form of theft, as in, "we compiled this data" when, in fact, you personally had nothing to do with the outstanding compilation; you're just the presenter of it.

4. Does everyone know his or her impact on the business? This applies to everyone, and doing it ensures that you give your top people the alignment they need in order to run the business smoothly. What are you doing to ensure that your team -- and everyone on their teams -- understands the company's vision, purpose, direction, and goals? What is your team doing to ensure that every employee understands his or her impact on the business? It's not enough that the senior leaders get it. Everyone needs to get it and be personally connected to it in order to feel motivated through good times and bad. This needs to be an agenda item on a regular basis, not just once, and you need to hold your people accountable for doing it.

5. Are you scrupulously fair? It's great to give extra attention and exciting assignments to your high performers and high potentials. That's actually fair, since you're getting more from them than from the core. Fairness here doesn't mean treating every single person exactly the same. It means objectivity.

For example, if your relatives work in the business, do you unfailingly hold them to the same standards as everyone else, or does there seem to be a disproportionate share of relatives on your high-potential list?

Do you scan your high potential and high performer lists for diversity? In this day and age, overrepresentation of any one group is a red flag that you may be failing to attract the best talent from the total population of qualified talent. Those high potentials and high performers who are not part of the dominant group will head to more welcome environments in which they are not always the odd one out.

Do you have someone inside or outside the business who will call you on it if you unwittingly show inappropriate favoritism toward a friend whose performance is just average?

Note that these tips are not costly to implement, which is also an advantage in a down economy!

10 Ways to Motivate Your Employees

10 Ways to Motivate Your Employees

The economy has taken its toll on employment screening firms, companies, families, and individuals alike; no one seems to be immune to its ravages. This coming year, though the economy is not predicted to completely turn around, there are some actions you can take now, that will motivate your employees and raise morale.

1. Create sub-goals for each employee with clear rewards for accomplishing them. For example, if your employment screening staff is able to turn around 10 lost client accounts in one month, take them out for pizza for lunch one day.

Provide monetary rewards wherever possible. Though the economy has tanked, your budgets don't have to be completely drained of employee incentives. Offer a $5 Starbucks coffee card to the salesperson who makes the most calls in one hour. Another enticing reward is a $5 iTunes credit for achieving the highest number of sales within the hour.

2. Encourage employees to make the rules. This may sound crazy, but when employees are handed the reins and asked to look over company policies and offer suggestions for improvement, morale goes way up. Though there is no promise that upper management will approve the suggested changes to policy, giving the "power to the people" goes a long way towards improving the way they feel about the company.

3. Bring breakfast in once a week. For example, if your employment screening company doesn't offer an expense reimbursement for things like this, ask management to create a monthly budget for it. Especially on Monday mornings, breakfast helps set a mood of community and renews people's commitments to get even more criminal background searches completed and to do a good job for the week.

4. Ask your boss to budget in lunch for your team once a month or bi-weekly. For example, offer to make it a working lunch with a formal agenda where everyone is brought up to date on current events in the company. If you have an employment screening firm, you could even provide them with some new industry-related learning opportunities.

5. Ask employees to participate in a monthly potluck to bring everyone together. People love to share their family recipes and it is a great time for everyone to connect on an entirely different level than can be achieved with a "working lunch" where everyone is eating and having a business meeting.

6. Offer to start a monthly birthday celebration. Though that sitcom "The Office" portrays this type of celebration as something annoying for both the party organizer and the employees, it is something that people truly appreciate. Ask for a small budget from management, say $20, and then have everyone pitch in an additional $2 or $3 to cover the cost of the cake, drinks, plastic forks, and paper plates.

7. Put together a yearly "Mission Statement" that is department specific. For example, if you had an employment screening firm, you'd gather each department, based on their specific goals and interests, and have them plan out what is most important to them as a group.

8. Take suggestions from each employee and add it to the Mission Statement so that each person is a part of the activity. Then, have it printed on paper in fancy lettering so that one is posted in each workspace.

9. Allow the staff in each department to interview prospective new hires and have a say in who gets hired. Though they can't help with the criminal background searches portion of the hiring process, their opinions will be invaluable.

10. Develop a system whereby employees can submit anonymous suggestions for improvements to the company policies, etc. Follow-through with upper management and do your best to make those suggestions a reality!

7 Easy (And Cheap) Ways to Motivate Your Employees

7 Easy (And Cheap) Ways to Motivate Your Employees

It's tough out there right now and many managers have gone through layoffs and pay freezes within their departments. In many cases, employee morale is at an all-time low. While you may not be able to use money as a motivator, there are several inexpensive (and sometimes free) ways to motivate staff.

1. Communicate! In virtually every study ever done managers rate themselves as good communicators, however in those same studies employees rate their managers as poor communicators. You cannot focus on this subject enough. Poor communication only leads to distrust and fear - both of which do not lead to happy, motivated and productive employees. There are always things managers cannot communicate to employees, however whenever possible you should communicate what you can. Even bad news is better communicated than not. Most likely, they will know something is amiss and it will become worse by their speculation and more importantly, it will cause them to distrust you. In addition, communicating work assignments and projects clearly increases morale. Employees are always more productive when they know exactly what's expected of them.

2. Praise. The key to praise is to give it immediately. If you see an employee doing something right or well, let them know right away. And even better, praise them when others are around. This is good for the employee and good for others to see. Praise always brings good vibes in the workplace. While you need to find good work to praise, try to target even mediocre employees. Find something they are doing right and praise it. This will motivate them to excel. Lastly, make sure you don't leave anyone out. Missing someone could cause jealousy and negative feelings.

3. Recognition. This is an extension of praise but takes things a step further. Recognition in a company newsletter or with a plaque can go a really long way. It also inspires good natured competition among employees. You could even get creative and personalize the awards. For instance, make up a name for the award that uses the company name or slogan. (If you are the Williams company, you could name the award the "Willy") You could even give an effort award trophy with a runner or weight lifter on it. All this costs almost nothing, but is amazingly effective.

4. Have a party or social event. You could have a costume party near Halloween or a Valentine's Day party during the last hour of the work day on a Friday. It doesn't matter. These types of events bring people together and promote a team feeling of togetherness. The power of these events will surprise you. People are happy and more productive when they feel part of a team and like the people they work with. These events are also great stress-relievers. Schedule one today!

5. Job title. In the TV show The Office, Dwight Shrute takes great pride in his title "Assistant Regional Manager" when the title actually is "Assistant to the Regional Manager". His office mate, Jim, constantly corrects him and brings him down to size. Funny, yes, but it emphasizes a greater point - people take great pride in their job and the title can be a source of self-esteem. This little change in the language of the job title means a lot to Dwight and doesn't affect the organization at all. Why not take a little time and re-name everyone's job title with their input. It will make them feel good and it will cost the company very little.

6. Ask for your employee's input. It will make them feel involved and who doesn't feel more inspired when they are part of something? Have meetings and ask for input on everything. Meet with employees one on one and ask for their feedback there as well. The more employees feel involved with their companies and their job, the more motivated they will be. Plus, you will have the added benefit of many minds working together to make your department more efficient. Who knows, maybe the best idea will come from somewhere you least expected.

7. Rewards. Rewards don't have to be monetary. Maybe the highest sales for the week gets a gift certificate to a local restaurant or maybe the employee with the best work performance for the month gets to take a Friday afternoon off. Both of these scenarios cost a company very little but when people are competing, work performance will go up. Maybe if the whole department meets their goals, you could order pizza and cake for lunch. All of these things help break up the monotony of the day-to-day grind and every employee needs that. Event you

6 Ways to Instantly Improve the Motivation of Employees in a Recession

6 Ways to Instantly Improve the Motivation of Employees in a Recession

This recession is biting hard. So to aid stressed managers in the time of hardship, here is an excellent list of 6 ways to quickly motivate and improve the productivity of your employees now that the economic downturn is upon us.

1. Talk in terms of your employee's desires

In tough times, many managers or business owners start to fill every sentence with 'corporate objective' this and 'shareholders' that. It seems like leaders become more focus on satisfying external stakeholders rather than the employees themselves. You must turn this right around. The key to motivating an individual is to speak in terms of that employee's deepest wishes and desires. If the employee wishes to own their business then you must remind them that by completing the task you have given them, you will be improving their skills that will allow them to pursue their dream in time. This is a brilliant tip that if used on a personal level - can inspire whole teams of workers, one individual at a time.

2. Ensure bonuses are only given on a performance basis.

From individual motivation, we now move on to how policy can motivate staff. This tip will not make you a popular manager, but will increase efficiency and drive up productivity within your workforce, so may be nether-the-less very useful.

Bonuses such as cars, Christmas bonuses and other perks are given as a way of increasing the ego of staff over time. However, periods of excess perks lead staff to believe that they deserve that per forever. And the bonus stops becoming a bonus and becomes a right in their eyes. This is incredibly expensive and costly to a company which needs to desperately cut their overheads and bring about structural changes - therefore these perks must be tightly controlled. Bonuses should become on a performance earned basis. Even the Christmas bonus should only be payable on completion of even a very achievable task. Bonuses are a great tool for boosting motivation, however many companies have lost sight of this, and really need to take control again.

3. Take advantage of the competitive nature of your workers

Workers are inherently competitive and you can take advantage of this by setting tough competitive challenges to inspire your workers. Challenges are easy to set as long as you follow two rules:

- Don't let employees compete against those in their own team
- Give employees as much support as they need to complete their challenge, don't leave them alone to try and tackle a tough goal.

4. Inspire through leading by example

Leading through example is a brilliant trait of leadership and will be necessary to help motivate staff in a recession environment. Simply do as you say and behave as you would wish your staff to behave, and soon you will have effectively changed the culture of your business in a small but useful way. How you wish your employees to behave is up to you!

5. Set goals properly.

Performance based targets are dangerous tools if used incorrectly. Impossible targets, or targets that are actually out of an employees control actually de-motivate instead of increasing motivation. So ensure that you set goals with the employee wholly in mind. Rather than setting targets like a wish list of things you'd 'like' to happen. Think from their perspective. If they put in a good amount of effort and dedication, what would you expect them to achieve? You should place your target at that level of achievement.

6 Tips to Motivate Your Employees

6 Tips to Motivate Your Employees

“Winners take time to relish their work, knowing that scaling the mountain is what makes the view from the top so exhilarating.”
- Denis Waitley

Such memorable quotes are often found on the walls of office cubicles, or even in the lounge or cafeteria, simply to motivate employeesHowever, in today’s world, this is not enough to retain your workforce.

Many people believe motivation is the driving force behind an action. This is probably the simplest explanation. Motivation can be considered as a feeling inside that encourages a certain action. Some managers still try to get their work done by simply bullying the staff. They call it ‘motivation - a stimulus to their employees to work hard!’ … That’s a surefire formula to lose the game. Instead, try out the following 6 ways to encourage your team in the right manner.

1. What motivates you? First of all think about what inspires you to work. Make a note of all those things that are important to you in your working life. If you have come a long way in your career, you must have carried along from your early days some things that motivated you as well as others that did the opposite. Check them out once. It might give you some ideas on how to go about motivating your current team.

2. What motivates your people? Motivation is a complex area. It’s different for each individual as each person has got a different reason to work. Some might love the work they are assigned to do. Some might like change, challenge and diverse problems to solve. Others may wish for greater status, higher pay, better working conditions and flexible benefits.

It simply means you can’t take up a common policy to motivate and retain your entire workforce. Find out individually what your employees want most from their jobs by asking them in performance appraisals, attitude surveys, e-mails or informal conversations.

3. Monetary incentives: That being said, regardless of the various reasons to go to work, compensation is a common denominator.

Therefore, make sure you give enough importance to monetary benefits, by paying what your employees deserve. Healthy pay packages not only attract efficient people, but also motivate them to work better everyday. And it is a fact that your other motivational tactics work only when people are happy with their earnings on the job.

4. Recognize and reward hard work Monday Morning Leadership: 8 Mentoring Sessions You Can't Afford to Miss : This is indeed a motivation to people who work for love and thus always give their hundred percent. Research reveals that nothing inspires them to work harder than a public pat on the back. Added to that, your appreciation motivates others to give their best shot so that they are also recognized among their peers.

5. Growth and development: As an important employee motivational factor, you can also consider giving opportunities to your people to grow in their work domain. Provide them with education and training; occasionally allow them to sit in high-level meetings; and empower them to take some decisions.

6. Make it a fun place to work in: Add some fun to the daily grind. Small things like birthday parties for your employees, a team dinner to celebrate a special achievement, installing a games room on the premises…there are loads of options

Waterfalls - the Motivation of Work

Waterfalls - the Motivation of Work

Water, the liquid that sustains the nature. It will be very difficult for us to find a living being who does not need water. Have you observed water anytime? Yes, I know that you take bath in water, wash yourself with water, drink water many times a day, but what I am asking is- have you observed water? Take a glass of water and look at it carefully. It is transparent. It has no taste. It mixes with most of the materials and it takes every color given to it. That is water. And that is why waterfalls are so charming.

The speed of falling water itself is a great freshener. Why does that make us feel good? Is it the power of the fall, or the great volumes of water that falls non stop? The whole atmosphere feels clean near a waterfall. The small drops of water that cover the whole surroundings are enchanting in themselves and the view is mesmerizing.

Why do people go and visit waterfalls? How many of us think about that? We visit waterfalls because we love watching them. We get energized watching them. We get a feeling of unknown excitement being near a waterfall. Why? The first reason is that the waterfall is natural. No man made waterfall will ever attract so much attention as the natural one will. We are after all products of nature and carry the genes of forefathers who lived in jungles. Second reason is the sense of purity we feel near a fall. That and the power, the velocity of the fall, copious amount of water going down at every moment.

That takes us away from our worries and attracts us to itself. Come watch me. Look at my power, look at my innocence and look at the non stop motion. I never get tired. I have been going on like this for centuries and will continue like this. From infinity to infinity. That is the message of waterfalls. The waterfalls motivate us to work untiringly. The message they give is simple - work ceaselessly without thinking of any support from anyone. Be on your own and work. One day the world will come to watch you. Get inspired by the waterfalls next time you see one.

Three Solid Work-At-Home Internet Business Opportunities

Three Solid Work-At-Home Internet Business Opportunities

Do you want to sit at home and still see your bottom line grow? There are many work-at-home Internet business opportunities that will help you achieve this kind of success, as long as you are willing to put in the effort.

Working from home may seem like a dream, but it is very much a reality. Opportunities include sales, marketing, services, consulting, and more. Your skills, desires and work ethic will determine which choice is most appropriate to your needs. Here are three popular and well established home based businesses you may want to consider.

1. Affiliate marketing – An affiliate marketing program is a wonderful way to monetize your blog, website or any other online venture you may have. There are high quality affiliate directories available that will help you find the perfect partner. Your affiliate partner will pay you to direct customers to their website from your site or blog. Some partners will pay a commission that is directly based upon sales, others will pay for simple traffic, and yet others will offer perks and rewards.

2. Online Services – There are numerous ways to earn money working online by providing services for other businesses. Accounting, web design, graphic design, writing and customer service are all common web based careers. For those with specialized talents or knowledge, the market is wide open.

Writing eBooks online has become a lucrative and fulfilling opportunity for those who have unusual talents. A lifetime in business is the perfect background for someone who wants to sell their knowledge of corporate structure. Years of playing a particular sport can easily be translated into a book of tips for up and coming youngsters. The possibilities are endless.

3. Multi-Level or Get Paid Today Marketing - Both MLM and GPT marketing opportunities abound online. Many are completely legitimate; others should make you run for the hills. If you have the talent to market yourself well, you should seriously consider the possibilities of marketing. In the MLM structure there is more emphasis placed on developing a line of recruits, called your downline, since at least a percentage of your earnings come from their sales. In GPT marketing the products tend to be more expensive and you need to make fewer sales to earn more money, so it helps to really know your trade.

If this kind of home based internet business appeals to you, I strongly suggest you hire a coach to help you get started. There are many aspects to marketing that the new entrepreneur will never consider. Even if you have thought of using social media, for example, as a part of your marketing platform, the best way to do so may elude you. Don't feel that you have to reinvent the wheel; get a good coach.

Working from home is still work. You can't expect to sit around in your pajamas, occasionally glancing at your website and haphazardly engaging in periodic marketing efforts if you want to succeed. For those who are motivated, hard working and organized, the Internet offers great opportunities to achieve their financial dreams.

Motivation At Work Secrets for Good Managers

Motivation At Work Secrets for Good Managers

Do you ever have those days at your job when everything just seems pointless? It is the same old thing day in and day out, and you wonder why you are doing what you are doing for a living.

Well, believe it or not, this happens to everyone at some point or another. Even with the most rewarding careers, life can start to get boring and hum drum after time.

So how does a person obtain and maintain motivation at work? Set your goals to get specific jobs and projects done at your workplace. Give yourself deadlines to meet these goals. Sometimes a project is so overwhelming that it is hard to get motivated to do it.

The bottom line is, if you value your job, you need to set standards and goals to get your responsibilities completed. Also, a positive attitude is extremely important. It spreads to the other co-workers, too.

As a manager, your responsibility is to get specific jobs done through the employees. So the same goes as with the employee. Setting goals is the first step to motivating yourself and your staff.

Another issue is rules, regulations and policies. We have to have some rules and guidelines to follow, however, sometimes we have too many rules and some do not even make sense to us. It is a good idea to put into place only rules and policies that are a necessity for the good of the cause.

Make the rules published so that the employees can see and know them. Explain to them and educate them on why the rule has to be followed. It just makes sense to teach them instead of trying to force them into following the rules.

Have discussions on policies and rules with the staff. Be open minded to any feedback they might have as well. Listen to ideas of the employees. Basically, be a team with them, and not above them.

Reward your employees for a job well done. They have put their time and effort into a particular project and they deserve a reward. Rewards are motivation for us. It could be a monetary bonus, a raise, a promotion, a small gift, or even words of affirmation. But they do need to hear that they have done well.

As a manager, it is important to be a part of the staff. If you are shorthanded, step up to the plate and help out. Don't let them think that you are above their job.

Digging in there and helping will earn allot of respect from your employees. It will motivate them to do a better job because you are in there with them. They will take pride in what they do.

How to Stay Motivated While Working From Home

How to Stay Motivated While Working From Home

It is very exciting to start a work at home business. There are hundreds of attractive offers on the internet but which one do you choose.

Unfortunately, some offers are not what they say they are. Have you heard “if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is”? You should always beware of the offers that sound too good to be true.

When you find the right work at home business, you can’t wait to start. The task is to stay with it. You will not be successful overnight. It takes dedication, hard work, and commitment to get your business off the ground.

It can be disheartening when it seems nothing is happening with your business. Just remember, if you stick with it, things will pick up and you will be grateful that you remained committed. But how do you stay motivated so you can build a successful business?

Think of the future. Have you created short and long term goals for yourself? Do you hope for more time with your family, financial freedom, and security? Write your goals down and refer to them daily. Then you’ll always know why you started your work at home business. Once you reach your goals, won’t all the hard work be worth it?

Spending more time with family is a great motivational factor when starting a business working from home. Remember, you need to take the time to get your business up and running successfully. Eventually you will spend less time on your business and more time with your family.

Financial freedom and security are the ultimate end results of a work at home business. Imagine being able to save for your children’s education, buy a house, take vacations, work less and play more. Not worrying about money is a goal most people have.

Finally, although it may not seem like anything is happening in your business that, in fact, may not be the case. For instance, when you work an online business and you are submitting articles, you are creating back links to your site which may not be beneficial immediately. The more links you have, the more traffic you will get. With time, this traffic will lead to increased success for you and your business.

With your own work at home business, you can choose when you work, who you work with, where you work and how much time you spend working. You will spend time making yourself rich rather than someone else. So why not work for yourself, earn money for yourself and set your own schedule with a work at home business?

Motivation at Work?

Motivation at Work?

Using SMART goal setting tools to plan your future is a necessary step when you decide to launch out on your own home based business leaving behind the daily grind of 9-5 routine, your adventure is just about to begin.

Even that can be daunting if you have never been involved in personal or professional goal setting before. Motivation at work came as you were subject to goals that were set by your bosses, but they were their goals not yours. I promise you setting personal goals can be fun, when you understand the goal setting process. Really it is management by objectives and will raise your self esteem.

Your first goal could well be to establish self esteem affirmations to take your home based business to such a level that you can quit your full time job to work from home. Let me eradicate one myth for you, earning from your home based business does not involve a leadership assessment. I always tell people that commission is a far more stable income than salary. Why do I say that, commission is generated totally by your efforts and nobody can sack you or make you redundant except you, unlike your job when you are always at the mercy of someone else? Also the level of income you generate is entirely from the effort you put in not what someone thinks they can get away with paying you. If you think otherwise DO NOT GO INTO BUSINESS FOR YOURSELF.

This step is the most difficult. Take an unemotional look at the business you are establishing by using needs theory not motivational theories. Why is it difficult, well it is always difficult to go through a reasonable goal setting process of your prospective business, for if you are not filled with the excitement and anticipation from building your new business, I suggest you look at the phrase in capital letters above? Be realistic not unrealistic, positive not negative. Establish where you want to be, say, next year at this time using SMART goal setting tools.

When you establish that, working out how to get there is easier.

It never works to look at what you can do today and believe that you can do that every day, you have to remove the guesswork and know exactly what you need to do each day. The needs theory is that you work from where you want to end up and establish what you need to do each day to get there; if you want to earn $3,000 per month and your sale item generates $40. How many sales have you got to make and how many people have to see your proposition to make that $3,000. Well the sales are easy you need to sell 75 items to hit your $ marker but generating people to see your proposition is a different kettle of fish. If 1.It may be a frightening figure that in order to hit your sales goal, if you are using industry averages, you need to show your proposition to 6818 people, you quickly accept that everyone who sees your proposition is not turned into a customer. You see $3,000 is not your goal 224 visitors a day to your site is your goal, that is management by objectives. Professional goal setting will raise self esteem and create a clear path to where you want to be.

As I promised above once you know where you want to end up and by using smart goal setting the 'How' is easier, for now you know how many visitors a day you need, you just need to study how to get them there and the $$$$'s will look after themselves. It is almost the opposite way of thinking when you had your day job, and motivation at work was often a result of the old carrot and stick mentality.

Working for yourself is highly rewarding.

Motivating Employees - Ride the Ranch Together

Motivating Employees - Ride the Ranch Together

Do you have employees who work as though they have blinders on? Who can't see how the quality of their work affects the quality of their colleagues' work? Who don't show much commitment to your organization?

If so, then here's a tip on how to connect employees with the flow of the rest of the herd: Ride the ranch together.

Cowhands who ride the ranch with their boss gain a better understanding of how best to work the ranch. They know where the good grass is and where the fence is down; which cows like to hide, and when the creek runs dry.

If you as a manager will invest a few minutes to give employees, especially new ones, an overview of your organization, they too, will know how best to work within it.

Acquaint employees with what it is you're really about and the goals you're shooting for. Point out your strengths as well as the areas that need improvement. Give employees a sense of the seasonal ebb and flow of your outfit, when they'll need to gallop full out and when a steady trot will do.

Show a new employee around the place so she gets a visual of what lies beyond the horizon of her own desk. Tour the different departments, describe their roles and explain how the employee's job will both depend on and contribute to each department.

Introduce the employee to the other members of the staff. Knowing names and faces makes your outfit more personable and your team members are more respectful when they know each other. An employee will fill out a report more accurately if she knows she's turning it in to Kim in accounting, rather than in to an obscure accounting department located in some part of the building she's never laid eyes on before.

Riding the ranch together is a sure fire way to get rid of blinders. As employees get a feel for your organization and see how their work relies on and affects the work of their co-workers, they'll be motivated to work harder for the success of the entire outfit.

How To Stay Motivated When Working At Home

How To Stay Motivated When Working At Home

Anyone who works at home knows that there are times - many times - when you just don't feel like working. Or, maybe things are going on in your life or in your home that are distracting you from doing your work. Regardless, you need to create a structure to your work at home life that eliminates interruptions, temptations, and frustrations, and lets you get on with making a real living. Lack of motivation is one of the major reasons why "work at home" businesses fail.

The effect of waking up in the morning and walking directly from the bed to the desk is enough to make anyone unmotivated. By creating a more work-like structure, you can regain your motivation and earn more money. First things first - if you had a real job, would you work in your pajamas? No! So, when you get up in the morning, take a shower and put on some REAL clothes. By creating a feeling of work, you will work harder and more efficiently. You will take your "job" more seriously. Have a cup of coffee, sit down to your desk, and get working. Make sure everyone in your home knows when "work time" is and that they are not to interrupt you, except for an emergency. People must learn to respect that when you are working you are not available to them. Set deadlines for yourself. If you have a project due at the end of the day, have deadlines established throughout the day that represent where you want to be in the project at a specific time.

One of the best tools for setting deadlines is an egg-timer. By racing against the clock, you will work faster and more efficiently. There are numerous electronic egg-timers that you can put on your computer that can help you keep on task. Money is a great motivator. If you think of how much you are making and what you can do with that money, the more motivated you will become. If you are saving to buy a home, get a picture of a house you like and load it as your computer wallpaper, or put it on your desk for a constant reminder. If you are saving for your child's college fund, put a picture of your kid in front of you and draw a little graduation cap on him or her. This will remind you that the work you are doing is worthwhile and that motivation is necessary to achieve your goals.

How Point of Sale Programs Motivate Employees

How Point of Sale Programs Motivate Employees

Point of sale programs are must-haves for anyone who wants to be successful in a business venture. They speed up business transactions, create smooth workflow for employees, and are capable of providing detailed sales reports on a day-to-day basis.

Customers also enjoy the benefits of point of sale programs as the systems help provide more customer-oriented services for any type of business. Most of us might have already experienced how POS programs make both businessmen and customers happy, but the benefits don't end there.

In order to keep a business running smoothly, a business owner should aim to keep employee morale high. Employees are the backbones of the business; they are the link between the business owner and the customers and without them, there would be no business at all.

Business owners should learn how to keep their employees in high spirit, while keeping the sales up as well. If balance between those two is achieved, the business can generate optimum income. Point of sale programs offer two ways in which to motivate employees to work harder: staff management and customer marketing. These two are the keys to having a successful business, and creating a happy atmosphere at work.

Point of sale programs have staff management features such as sales tracking for each employee, commission totals, fore-casted sales, and top employee based on sales. Using these features of POS programs, business owners/managers can motivate their employees to work harder and increase their sales by providing incentives and promotions to those shown to have worked the hardest based on sales.

If an action plan, for example, is created in which the best employee of the month is given bonuses and incentives, employees can use the software's individual sales tracking feature to monitor their progress for the month and see how much they still have to work for.

Incentives do not need to be costly either. They could just be compensatory, such as flexible schedules, an increase in the number of allowed absences, and the like. Individuality, in this case, is helpful because it shows the employees how each one of them is important in the business. This would be a win-win situation since motivated employees work harder and in turn, get more sales.

Having information about customers also help the employees establish better relationships with the people they are serving. POS software can provide information on customers' previous purchases which would help the employees understand what the customers want which, in turn, lead to better sales opportunities.

Also, POS programs provide statistics on frequent buyers and top customers based on amount of purchases. With this information at hand, employees could contact the customers personally whenever gift certificates, discounts, or freebies are available for them - if such permission was granted.

Building a good relationship between employees and customers is important because when the employees gain the customer's trust, it would mean more sales opportunities for them. More importantly, it also translates to the customers trusting the company. All this is made easier by POS programs.

Four Steps to Greater Motivation at Work

Four Steps to Greater Motivation at Work

It is easy to think that the problem is 'other people'. Without them we would be more productive, more organised and more satisfied. Then we would get all the important things done and avoid the many distractions that surround us.

It is certainly true that we need to be flexible enough to accommodate other working styles and to communicate with people different to us. Yet we do have a responsibility to ourselves to honour what we believe is really important - our true agenda. Blaming other people is a way of ignoring this responsibility.

If this true agenda gets hidden away, we can be very busy without being consciously aware of what has happened. Instead we might feel vague uneasiness, tension or dissatisfaction without knowing why.

On the other hand, if we are aware that our true agenda is on hold, we tell ourselves that we will return to it when we have finished everything else. This approach does not work because we never completely finish 'everything else'.

Balance is critical here, just as it is critical in the natural world. Our physical body moves by dynamic balance: tension in some muscles alternating with relaxation in others. We need a certain balance of sugar in the blood to function but too much sugar will kill us. More broadly, balance is essential in how we spend our finite personal resources: our time and energy (and money) are not unlimited.

At this point we need to be wary of the commitments we make. Commitment is what makes the difference between intention and action. It transforms the mental activity of creation into living reality. Yet committing to one thing inevitably excludes others, so it is wise to choose carefully. How often do you say 'No'?

Here's a practical strategy to apply these principles:

1. Create a list of what you think is really important. This can be single words or phrases, general or specific. Spend as much time as you need to create a list that covers all that is important. Here are some other questions that may help you:

What do you care about? What do you really want? What makes life worth living?

What makes you frustrated or angry? What is it you can't live with? What principles are being violated?

When you have finished, keep your list in a safe place. This is the essence of your true agenda.

2. Against each item on the list put a value between 1 and 10 to indicate how much you currently honour it with your own resources (time, energy, money)

3. Review the list, particularly noting the items with the lower scores. Choose one item (or more if you like) where you want to increase your resources spent on it. What do you want to achieve by doing this?

4. Make a commitment to balance this increase in resources (time, energy, money) by trimming a less important area (preferably one that is not on your list at all!). Give this commitment a time frame and a review date so you can check the balance again then.

You can return to your list anytime you like and repeat steps 3 and 4.

As you regain your true agenda, watch what happens to your motivation.

Finding Motivation at Work

Finding Motivation at Work

Do you ever have those days where you can't quite pull yourself out of bed when the alarm sounds? Many times we have these days because we don't have the motivation to go to work and do our jobs. This occurs for many reasons, for some people they just haven't gotten enough rest, for others they are distracted by things going on at home, others are procrastinating with things at work, and others simply lack the motivation to go to work! If you would like to combat the lack of motivation that you are currently feeling at work there are a few simple ways to incorporate motivation and inspiration into your day, every day.

Getting Motivated at Work

When you sit down at your desk each morning do you dread the workday ahead of you? Do you have a hard time getting started on your work because you're simply not interested? A great way to get motivated is to think about all of the things that your job allows for you to do. You put food on the table, you are able to pay your bills, provide a place to live, go out for drinks with friends, and perhaps even go on vacations with the family. When you think about all of the great things that you get because you work, suddenly you'll feel motivated to get started and keep pressing on throughout the workday.

If you lack motivation at work because you simply don't like the job all that much, you can still find motivation in what you do. When you are having one of those days where you need something to kick start you, why not envision where you will be in a year, five years, and ten years. When you do this, you will clearly see where you are now as a stepping-stone to where you want to be. When you do this you will suddenly see the importance in the here and now and you'll be motivated to do a good job.

A great way to motivate yourself is to put yourself in your boss's position. If you were your boss what would you expect from yourself? When you start to look at yourself, your contributions to the workplace, and your overall work ethic you can start to look at yourself and your level of motivation in a much different manner. When you are clearly motivated to do well and do the best that you can on any particular job, your boss will be more pleased with you and you may find that you can move ahead in your career much faster than you anticipated.

There are those days when it is really difficult to get motivated no matter what you try. All of the psychological tricks in the book won't work if you are just having a bad day. When you do this, you have to make sure that your environment is motivational. You can enhance the atmosphere as well as make it motivational by using motivational wallpapers for your computer. These can be images or quotes or both that will help you to dig deep and always find the light at the end of the tunnel that will keep you moving forward.

A Pondering on Work from Home Business Success

A Pondering on Work from Home Business Success

Have you grown weary of keeping it up with your boss? For years you've wanted to work from home and you are finally doing it. You are no longer an employee who has a "J O B"; you are now a business owner, self-employed, ruler of your own destiny AND you have inherited all the responsibilities that come with owning a business:

* You are the manager * You are the marketer * You are the service provider/widget maker * You are the bookkeeper

And the list goes on. We often get so busy running our businesses that we forget why we started them in the first place.

So what does a small business owner do to stay motivated while working from home?

1. Remember the "why".

Take a step back to remember the reason you went into business in the first place. What was your inspiration? It helps to focus intently on how you felt when you first realized you wanted to be successfully self-employed. For me, it was the sense of freedom and independence that I knew would come with success as an entrepreneur.

2. Give yourself a deadline.

If you're procrastinating about a project, you may be motivated by the self-imposed pressure of a deadline. Try giving yourself a deadline that you won't want to back down on: send an email to friends announcing a new product launch, email your client with a due date for that big project you're working on, take reservations for your first teleclass, you get the idea.

3. Maintain a support system.

One of the hardest parts of being a solopreneur can be the sense of isolation. When things go right (or wrong), we no longer have the "water cooler" to go to. Be sure there is someone who you can share with, someone who is available for a quick motivational chat when you need one.

4. Keep the goal in sight.

A simple, yet effective motivational tool is to keep your goals in sight – literally. I've taken a picture of my dream house and made it the background wallpaper on my computer. One glance at it is a megadose of motivation for me!

5. Take a nap.

As counterintuitive as it sounds, taking a powernap is one of the best ways to rejuvenate your body AND mind. So the next time you're feeling overwhelmed or low, slowly and intently read each of your goals and then go take a powernap. Let your subconscious work on ways to manifest those goals while you rest.

When you wake, you'll be raring to go!

6. Reward yourself.

When faced with a large project, unpleasant task or anything that overwhelms you, plan a reward for once it's done. The reward can be as simple as a quiet bath with candles or as exciting as a professional sporting event. Just be sure to plan a reward that YOU want and will enjoy!

7. Take a break.

You've most likely never worked harder than when you are first starting your own business. In addition to actually "doing" all the work, you need to work on marketing, invoicing and other overhead or "non-billable" tasks.

Don't get caught in the trap of "all work and no play". Be sure you take days off and breaks throughout the day to rejuvenate and gain some perspective. Whenever I'm stuck on a project, I grab one of the dogs and go for a walk…by the time I return to the office, things have usually sorted themselves out in my head.

It doesn't matter how successful your home business is or how much you love to work from home; both new and established entrepreneurs face the motivational dilemma at some point and while some of the above motivational strategies may seem conflicting on their face – giving yourself a deadline versus taking a break for example – they all have their place in the life of a successful entrepreneur.

Life Coach And Motivational Speaker, Father Time, Has An Awesome Daily Motivational e-mail Message, Currently Offered For Free!

Life Coach And Motivational Speaker, Father Time, Has An Awesome Daily Motivational e-mail Message, Currently Offered For Free!

BIG NEWS: Life Coach And Motivational Speaker, Father Time, Has An Awesome Daily Motivational e-mail Message, Currently Offered For Free!

Yep, that's right...FREE!

Why? That is a good starting point. However a starter should examine his motivations. Why do he want an internet business?

Is it money, independence, success stories about internet, a millionaire dream or?
The core motivation to work from home internet business is important because it will direct a starter to the right kind of programs.

A program must fit for a starter and a new home business owner must feel like home there. Whatever a starter´s plan is, the market will dictate the rules of every business in the internet. How the market works is the only angle to look at the possibilities in home business.

It is not wise to try to invent the wheel again or try to change the rules in the internet. I can tell you, it is impossible.

Rather a newbie should direct his efforts towards proven, successful affiliate programs to make sure the start will be a success.

I highly recommend to start work from home internet business by joining an old affiliate program, which has a strong reputation and the size of business that proves they can do it.

As a starter at work from home internet business it is extremely important to make the first choices right and the most important choice is the internet business a newbie will promote.

The internet is full of scams overpromising and underdelivering. These must be avoided.
A solid work from home internet business affiliate program is normally widely known all over internet, so avoid newcomers.

A newbie makes wisely if he, before joining anything, joins a couple of discussion forums. My favorites are associateprograms.com and warriorforum.com.

People who join discussions are experienced marketers , not sellers, and discuss on a practical, everyday level.

There it is possible also to make questions, which can be very interesting. If a program has an own forum, it is a sign of real target to succeed in work from home internet business on long term.

Another important issue is helpful, rapid online support, which will never leave a starter alone with his questions.

By joining an affiliate program a starter will avoid a lot of difficult things, site set-up, payment arrangement, updating site, product pricing, dropping and adding products etc.

As a starter at work at home internet business a newbie can concentrate learning. And that only is his job in the beginning. The question is not about running a home business but learning how to run internet home business.

When a starter will think of the process of learning a new profession, the major thing is, it will take time. People study for years new professions in high schools and universities.

This is very important issue to understand, because it will make the whole process more realistic.

It will take time, not weeks but months and years. Understanding this will prevent a newbie to overinvesting into promotions in the beginning.

One important thing during the proces is, protect your motivation. Too big, repeated errors easily kill it. So study all the moves carefully before action.

Once again, the question is not about the money invested into promotions but about the know-how. The internet reacts only to professional actions, it doesn´t care or even know the amounts invested.

A starter must be careful because in the beginning the enthusiasm runs his thoughts. And that is good but also a little bit dangerous.

As said, proven affiliate program with experienced people around helping, it is nice to start work from home internet business.

Working Moms: How are you Encouraging your Heart?

Working Moms: How are you Encouraging your Heart?

There is a leadership book by Kouzes and Posner, entitled "Encouraging the Heart" and in it, the authors talk about how small, simple acts of kindness and appreciation can go a long way in enabling people to feel motivated at work. It's a subject matter after my own heart, and I often speak to leaders and executives about this very thing.

As women and moms, we often forget about encouraging our own hearts. It's the easiest job in the world to feel motivated and encouraged when everything seems to be going your way…but what about those days when you're tired beyond belief? When you're juggling not one plate, not two, but 102? When you feel life is more of a battle than an adventure?

That's why I decided to create my own "Encouraging my Heart" book. Here's a picture of mine attached - on the front it says, "You are a woman of vision…creative, courageous, amazing and beautiful!" And inside I've glued fabulous emails from people who have encouraged me with their feedback (hey - one of YOURS might even be in there, if you've emailed me!) cards; post-it notes; I've scribbled down texts I've received from friends and clients which have buoyed me up; there are pictures or words ripped out of magazines; articles I've had published; positive comments people have made to me…anything which has given me a boost or a lift goes in there.

Then, on the days I feel less than energized - less than that woman of vision, who is creative, courageous, amazing and yes, beautiful - I take out the book and have a flick through it to remind myself of the great stuff that's going on in my life. Of the people, clients and friends I've helped and who in turn, have helped me.

Being "up" all the time isn't manageable, even for someone like me, who is naturally more energized and positive. That's not failure - it's called being human! However, there are times when I think we can all spend a little too long wallowing; feeling we're not making a difference; that we're not doing as great as we could be. If one is eager, he/she may manage to combine work with study. It is not easy at all, but self-organization and the correct time-management may help. Sometimes the students combining work with study are even more successful than those who are not working. Perhaps, it is additional stress that helps them to solve the problems easily. Such students deserve admiration, don't they?

The students may have different reasons and kinds of motivation for choosing these conditions. These are the most wide-spread of them:

• lack of money to pay for the college:

• desire to receive additional income for the trivial expenses;

• the aim to receive working experience before graduating from the college;

• the desire to become independent from the parents.

No time for leisure?

Whatever is the motivation for work it is praiseworthy. It demonstrates that the person is maturing. Getting used to work much and hard will be useful for the further professional and personal growth. Not taking anything for granted but struggling with the difficulties will harden the students' will of power. The personality is only developing at this stage and every choice is important.

Having decided to combine work with study it is very important to take one's health into consideration. There is nothing above health in this life. That is why the student is to make sure that his/her health is not damaged. Good night sleep and nourishing diet are a must for the students who expend much energy during the day.

At the same time one should not forget about the spiritual health. If the student feels depressed and nothing makes him/her glad, it means that one has to change something. It is important to allot time for rest, leisure, communication with friends and relatives. Actually, the busiest are said to have the most leisure. As a rule, they can time their day perfectly.

Motivation – What Works For You ?

Motivation – What Works For You ?

Harvey Mackay, who wrote in a syndicated column for United Features stated, “People begin to become successful the minute they decide to be”.

Those words ring so true for the internet marketer as we battle daily the desire to create the lives of our dreams; writing ads, articles, blogs, press releases, etc. to convince others that the opportunity we present is wonderful. But in the early phases where generating traffic to our campaigns seems bleak, we wane in our confidence necessary to keep going.

So I ask again, Motivation - What Works For You?

Your motivation must be well defined, available immediately for personnel review and mental action, so as not to be tripped up by mis-steps. Each task we accomplish does not necessarily reduce the horizon behind us. These tasks however can provide education for later steps. To learn and understand the process increases our future success. Not all of us will have the ‘luck’ that some do with their ad campaigns. The chance that our words are acted on right away and a sale is made only is a promise of all the 'gurus' out their selling the next “best system on the internet today”.

For the vast majority, these numbers creep along slowly. Potential purchasers on the web are out there, it is just not every day that they visit our scribblings. Trying combinations of words in our campaigns that will eventually bring them our way is an arduous task. Those not getting sales may have given up too soon, or just never had that deep desire. Most information seekers ( these are what I believe are on the net ) are not “Wowed” the instant your campaigns are seen. However, there can be an attitude within your writing; combining words in ways that can be remembered.

In the book ‘Positive Thinking Every Day’ written by Norman Vincent Peale, he stated, “In every difficult situation is potential value. Believe this, then begin looking for it.” The value of the thought is to beginning each morning with the idea that todays actions will be the ones that work, must not leave your mind. Just as stated earlier, you really must believe that you will be successful while you are working to be. We are told many times to see our ultimate dream; see it daily to remind our minds why. Without it, what path should be taken when presente with several choices becomes laborous to choose? Thus, no action is then taken.

So I ask again, Motivation - What Works For You?

Define them what ever they may be, and make them a habit. You will see over time, those habits become natural, without thought, and your creative side will come forth. For no person was the best immediately. Your actions will define you. I will leave you with this final quote from Steven Covey from his book, ‘The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People’

“Between stimulus and response, one has the freedom to choose.”

It is yours to choose, yours to embrace, yours to overcome. Success happens out there, not from behind the windows. The motivation can not be measured, for the small victories of each accomplishment during each day, motivates the victories for tomorrow

The Benefits Of Keeping Yourself Motivated To Work

The Benefits Of Keeping Yourself Motivated To Work

Learning motivates work, it helps you to accept responsibility for your behaviour, for your actions and positive attitude. In reality motivation comes from a person's belief, which helps him/her to achieve his/her goal. Purpose,Desire,Direction and Dedication are the qualities necessary to experience real motivation.

People motivate themselves by understanding their needs and wants. It could be Tangible Gifts,Rewards or Intangible growth,Appreciation,Recognition and a lot more, as it varies from person to person. How does motivation work in your case? If you Understand how motivation works for you, then your Internal Motivation will drive you to achieve your goals and lead you toward success.

People motivate themselves by inculcating in themselves, the belief responsible for actions and behaviour and creating a vision that helps them to outweigh the challenges that might come before them and accept their responsibilities in life. Lack of motivation brings life to a standstill, failure or fear of failure demotivates people and their pattern of their everyday life.On the contrary a motivated person has a spark in his eyes, always looks for new challenges and ways he can improve himself.

It could be said that real motivation starts from within a person based on how there needs are being consistently met. Without going into a long drawn out explanation of Abraham Maslow's hierarchy of needs I will state some of the conclusions. The most basic of needs stated by Abraham Maslow was the need to survive. Until that need is consistently met the other needs for all practical purposes cease to exist. Once that need is met then the individual is now ready to fulfill the other needs that may exist for themselves. These can be readily determined by there own specific paradigm of life. A person's paradigm is just the LENSES they tend to consistently see life through. A set of beliefs that color there experience and interpretation of all that surrounds them. There is no real change until a person's paradigm changes. But the motivation to make a paradigm change leads us to the next section.

SELF MOTIVATION AND YOU

If you are a person who is disciplined, goal-oriented, organized and instant, it means that you have the skills to motivate yourself. It means that you have a sense of achievement and that's how motivation actually works. For you to become the person that you are today.

Motivation is temporary and short lived and hence it needs to be strengthened constantly to succeed. Negative thoughts and anxiety come into play and we can become demotivated and dubious about our future. However, just by accepting the challenges to move forward, one can get motivated as he will have the will and commitment to be successful,Accepting the failures, learning it as a lesson in life, helps us to move on to the next stage of success.

CONCLUSION

Self motivated person knows the trick to get motivated after a disappointment and accepts the next obstacle that comes along. A motivated individual understands his thoughts and emotions, learns how to nurture them into a positive outcome, that keeps them focused on the next goal instead of being Complacent

What is Your Motivation - Goal Setting for Your Home Business

What is Your Motivation - Goal Setting for Your Home Business

If you are a home based business owner probably the largest obstacle you must overcome is finding motivation. You work at home and need to get online to work on your website, marketing, research, etc. But there are many other things going on that vie for your time. What do you do to ensure you are devoting adequate time to your home based business?

My main tool for motivation in my home based business is goal setting. This takes some planning, but if you spend a little time you can develop challenging, yet attainable goals. Why set goals? Goal setting allows you to determine where you want to go with your business. Setting targets gives you a basis for creating a defined plan and to identify those activities that are non-value added.

Goal setting is an activity used by successful business people, top level athletes, students and high achievers in all walks of life. Setting a goal and then reaching that goal gives a great sense of satisfaction and accomplishment.

There are several types of goals. You first establish your long term goals. These could be set for three to five years out. Profitability, net annual income, increase in business volume, ROI, size of customer base could all be used for long term goals.

Next is the creation of medium term goals related to the long term goals. These would be in the one to three year range. This is followed by short term goals that you want to achieve in the next several months. Finally, you develop an action plan that will lead to meeting the short, medium and long term goals.

The lifeblood of an online home based business is visitors to your website. So one of the goals should relate to how many visitors you are getting. Granted, there are ways to generate thousands of hits, so the goal must reflect "targeted" visitors. If you are new to online marketing you can set a smaller target. Set goals for one month, three months and one year. When you have met your 1 month target reevaluate the longer term goals and adjust them if necessary. Just be sure to validate or revise your action plan to keep moving toward the next target.

If you are not meeting your goals review the steps you are taking. Look for new and creative ways to market your home based business web page. Don't limit yourself to online marketing. Business cards, newspaper ads, flyers, etc. are all great options.

Find Out More Information Here.

If your home based business offers a product the goal could be obtaining a certain number of orders per week or per day. It could be sales or unit volumes. If you are an affiliate marketer your goal could be recruiting a certain number of affiliates per day or increase in your downline.

Once you have generated an adequate quantity of data, i.e., unique visitors per day and units of product sold, you can determine how much you sell per unique visitor. A new goal could be to increase the sales per visitor.

Make sure your goals have a time aspect, such as 500 visitors daily by the end of the next three months.

Setting achievable goals and then attaining them is a great motivator for a home based business owner. Once you get in the habit of setting and reaching goals your enthusiasm for your home based business will grow and your success will be assured.

Work-Life Balance to Facilitate Stress Management

Work-Life Balance to Facilitate Stress Management

If you want to learn how to get started on that and achieve better stress management method, here's how you can do it.

Introduction to Work-Life Balance

Work-life balance is basically taken to mean your ability to handle work and non-work aspects of life. Of course, you need to focus and dedicate your attention to work activities in order to make a living and provide for your family. However, work only takes up so much of your time and there is another aspect of your life outside of the workplace. To put it into perspective, you work to be able to enjoy more of life. But how can you do that when you do not give yourself the opportunity to take a break and have fun to recharge your batteries, so to speak.

This is why experts stress the importance of taking some time off in an effective stress management. Hence, allot some time off your day or week to socialize with friends, go out, enjoy a movie, or do something that you enjoy doing, but make sure it has not association with work duties whatsoever.

Hindrance to Achieving Work-Life Balance

Simple as it seems, not all people choose to have a work-life balance, whether consciously or subconsciously. What are ultimately the barriers to achieving a work-life balance?

The most basic hindrance that is preventing people from enjoying a work-life balancing is the different take that people have on what it truly means in their life. There is no pre-determined template that would define how a work-life balance should be like for all people, which makes it really difficult to adapt. Each person also has a different set of values until one person completely foregoes the need to enjoy such recreational activities.

Another common hindrance to achieving work-life balancing is the conflict of interests. This is particularly true in a highly materialistic world wherein most people are driven by money and the need to provide for material luxuries to their family, such as a brand new car, expensive clothes or shoes, gadgets, among other things.

Understanding Your Priorities

All of the above hindrances noted therefore prevent you from truly enjoying an effective stress management approach in life. The initial key to enjoying proper work-life balance is therefore to understand where your priorities lie. Are you satisfied with working full 8 hours and then dedicating the rest of the time to spend with your family? Or do you prefer slaving yourself at work?

Either way, achieving proper work-life balance is crucial to proper stress management. You cannot enjoy the latter if you do not have the ability to juggle work and personal life well enough.

Tips to Achieve Work-Life Balance

Here are some tips to achieve work-life balancing and a more efficient stress management method:

• Decide on what really matters to you. Is earning money from work more important than spending your time with the family, which is your main motivation for working?

Keeping Motivated at Work

Keeping Motivated at Work

Whether you're at a job you love or a job you simply do because you need to pay your bills, there are plenty of ways to actually enjoy your time at the office. So often, employees are quick to point out the flaws of their job and the injustices they face on a daily basis. This creates not only a negative working environment, but also a work space in which the productivity is limited by the beliefs of the workers. If you don't believe your job is worth your time, you're probably not going to put a lot of effort into it. But you can change your mind about work - and you might just find that the hours fly by.

Finding What You Don't Enjoy

Very often, we can get caught up in the idea that work is drudgery and that we need to hate it in order to be 'normal.' But if you were to ask people their thoughts on their current job, you would be surprised to hear that more often than not, people don't hate their jobs. If you feel like your work is something that you truly dislike, take a moment to write out the reasons what you don't like it. These should be simple reasons that cause you to complain or things that you wish you could change. Once you start this exercise, you might find that you don't have as much to say as you tend to share with coworkers.

Plan Something Revolutionary

One of the things that employees tend to forget is that when they complain, their complaints are often legitimate. But instead of simply talking about what is wrong, they should be taking the time to figure out how to set things right. With your list of things you would change, make some notes as to how you could change each of these items. This will help you come up with a plan of 'attack' on your current state of mind. Employees who take the time to change their work environment feel more invested in their jobs and in the outcomes, which leads to a more satisfying career.

Create Workable Goals

To help you feel more like you are doing something worthwhile at work, you should not only create general To Do lists with your typical tasks, but also personal lists of things you want to achieve every day. For example, you might want to create a goal of working on a particular project for so many hours or emailing certain people for help on a project that you need to start. Think about ways you can measure progress and success for yourself. For example, for each project, you complete, you might want to tack up a gold star on your calendar. This will encourage you to continue being efficient, while also showing you that you are more than capable of getting ahead.

Work doesn't have to be a place that fills you with dread. By looking at it as another place where you can flex your creativity muscles, and become a positive productive member of the company.

Get Motivated By Father Time In A Zen Sort Of Way! Daily Motivational E-mail Messages!

I am Father Time, a motivational speaker and self-help writer, and I offer a Daily Motivational e-mail service and I feel like giving away a few FREE subscriptions...please check this out!

There are some people who only need to make an extra hundred dollars a week, and that would make all the difference in the world to their life. Maybe you are in that category, and maybe with a little daily motivation, then YOU could make that extra money that you need and desire! There are millions of folks who are selling vitamins, cosmetics, or food storage containers, and they really can make lots of extra money with these items if they truly get motivated and work hard at it. Some people even turn it into a HUGE income, and quit their day job.

There are some people who will sign-up for this money making deal or that earning opportunity, but then they will only give out one or two catalogs or brochures, and then they end up quitting...they completely give up, and the sales kit they bought, ends up in the bottom of the closet...how sad! If they had only just tried, really tried, for a few months, they might have really made something out of it!

Alternatively, there are those people who will actually "go to town" with the very same opportunity and they will treat it just like it's a real part-time or even a full-time job! These people will usually succeed! It might take months and months of hard work, but it is worth it! Instead of watching silly, useless television, which so much of it is, these people will actually spend a few hours each and every evening working at their very own home based business. That is how you build a business and become successful, not by watching ordinary people dance on TV with other people (who are still ordinary) but who are stars because they can sing or act!

Maybe you are selling some products as part of a multi-level-marketing company, and you need to recruit people into the business, but you also need to sell some products as well! You should be contacting everyone that you know, even people who are out of state, and explain that you are now in the "vitamin" business and you wondered that if you mail them a catalog, will they please take a look and try to order something to help you out.

As I said earlier, I have an Awesome Daily Motivational e-mail Message Seen Here and I am currently offering a few free subscriptions! You really should sign up and please tell a friend or two about it as well! Doesn't this ArticlesBase.com website have some cool authors and articles? Feel free to share these with friends and family, and for those who re-post, please leave the links intact, otherwise you would be stealing content, and shame on you for that!

There's also much more to life than making money, and I cover many topics in the daily messages...there are many other important factors of life that we also cover, from eating more healthy and possibly losing weight, to treating other people with kindness and compassion, as well as having more patience!

On my fabulous website: www.FatherTimePublishing.com we also have lots of other cool stuff, such as magical, mystical good luck crystals and various other good luck charms, or you can get a Kuan Yin Oracle Reading, which is very cool because you don't even ask a question, but Father Time gets Kuan Yin's answer and sends it to you via e-mail!

Many Blessings!

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://motivationtowork.blogspot.com/2010/08/get-motivated-by-father-time-in-zen.html' title='Get Motivated By Father Time In A Zen Sort Of Way! I realize that. If you are reading this article I will assume you are at least thinking about it.

So, what's in it for you?

May be you are wondering if a work at home business offers anything for you. Maybe it will. It all depends.

What drives you? What motivates you? What things are precious to you? What are you dissatisfied with now? What are your dreams?

Maybe you are in some of the following situations and are looking for a way out.

Tired of putting in the effort for someone else's profit?

Is it money, or more money? One great benefit of having your own business is the fact that you are in control. You are rewarded or? paid? for your efforts in total rather than work for a share from the? boss?.

Is it the things money can buy? Maybe you have things you desire that you will never be able to obtain under your present circumstances. A work at home business could be the replacement? job? or supplement that you need to help you fulfill your dreams.

Tired of watching your family grow up without you?

Many, many people begin a work at home internet business career, not because they are unsuccessful in their present situation, but because they have no life (time). Many times the most successful people in the work force have very little personal time.

How valuable to you is your time? One of the main benefits or attractions is that you work on your own schedule, how, when and where you want. Imagine time with family and friends again.

Worried about your job's future?

Here today and gone tomorrow is the sad fate of many businesses in today's markets. How secure are you?

Maybe your present situation lacks security for various reasons. It?s certainly no fun dreading what may happen in this constantly shifting world of business. With your own work at home business you could insure steady income using cutting edge technologies.

Tired of spending your life on the road?

How about commute time and travel expenses? In some large cities I know, it's not the distance but the time and traffic hassles. In larger states a 100+ mile commute is not uncommon.

Sick and tired of being sick and tired?

How about working conditions physically and emotionally? After a few years and a few miles many workers are ?burned out? in spirit, mind and body. Working at home could be the change you need for renewal.

Stuck at it until you're stuck in it?

Have you experienced the? glass ceiling? syndrome? No matter what you do or say you are ?stuck? in a certain job, area or level. Lack of education is often the problem but maybe you feel don?t feel like further education is an option.

Fortunately for work at home internet business entrepreneurs, a willingness to learn, a desire to earn and motivation to work, far outweighs a lack of higher education.

Have special situations or needs?

Working at home is appealing and viable in situations such as stay at home moms, retirees and for ones with certain physical disabilities.

We could go on and on; debt relief, savings for kids education, retirement, etc. The point is we all have our wants and needs, our dreams and the things that are truly special to us.

For me, working at home is really a luxury considering the freedom and independence that goes with it.

A work at home internet business is not for everyone, but it may be just the ticket you have been looking for. A legitimate? business? will be just that; a business. It will require the work of a business, but the pay off can provide benefits that will easily answer your question,? what's in it for me?

Motivational Posters: Can be Motivating in Working Organizations!

Motivational Posters: Can be Motivating in Working Organizations!

Existence of a motivation is the thing that are crucial for us., It is very important to have motivating things around you if you want to perform exceptionally well in life and this is a reason why working organizations prefer sticking motivational posters within the office premises. Surely, such kind of an environment can help to stimulate the thinking levels of people at work. Even employees feel that they find themselves extremely relaxed once they come across such kind of posters. If employers want to be successful then it is advisable that they must go for employee satisfaction concept while boosting their stamina.

Apart from enhancing an employee performance, motivational posters even affect the thinking levels of people on their personal front. Long days and they apparently can not wait to go home and go outside or see their families.

How easy do you find it to be motivated and stay motivated at work?

How would you like to make changes today to enjoy your work more?

Read on for my top tips.
1. Plan your day - it can be hard to be motivated when you see the clock going around slowly and it feels an eternity until 5pm. So plan activities into your day, such as the tasks you need to achieve, and also make time to stretch your legs, or make a drink. Then you will be amazed how fast time will pass and what you will achieve.

2. Remain positive - office politics or negative colleagues can often reduce morale and make people feel demoralized and demotivated. So what can you do to remain positive - remember the good things, the thank-you, the positive comments and thoughtful appreciation. Then share your positivity with others.

3. Manage your projects - if you are working on a project which feels daunting or overwhelming, take some time to break it down into manageable chunks. What can you do today to move the project forward? Setting and achieving mini-goals will motivate further and help you to achieve the project.

4. Consider what you enjoy about your job - even those people who are really unhappy at work enjoy one or more aspects of their work. Remember what attracted you to the job in the first place, what do you enjoy and appreciate, and how it benefits other parts of your life.

5. Have something to look forward to - whether you are planning your next holiday or a night out with friends, schedule activities and events that you love. Or if you are working hard to afford a new car or other big expense, remind yourself of what you are doing to achieve that goal.

6. Remember that you don't have to work flat out all of the time - make sure you take a break every so often, whether you make the tea, have a chat with your colleagues or do a different task.

7. Take a lunch break away from your desk or working area - fresh air and exercise is a great motivator and it is good to give you time away from your work. It has the added advantage of making you feel more refreshed and more productive.

8. Delegate some work to others - delegation of the right tasks will help you to reduce your workload and will also give a new challenge to another person. Show them what to do, give them a timeframe and then let them get on with the task.

9. Set goals for your working future - if you don't want to be in the same job in one year's time, do something about it. Set a goal of where you want to be, and then start to work on it today. What can you do within the next two weeks to move you closer to that objective?

10. Call for help - please do call for assistance, if you are having trouble staying motivated in your job, find someone to help you. Whether you choose a colleague, friend, partner or a coach, talking about it will help you to overcome this slump and clarify what needs to change. You better find a consultant who can assist you further.

6 Tips To Keep Yourself Motivated To Work Out To Build Muscles And Burn Fat

6 Tips to keep yourself motivated to work out to build muscles and burn fat.

I will give you important tips to help you get motivated to get to the gym in the short term. The information i am going to give you is by no way the most complete inform, but it does have some interesting things you can make use of to keep yourself going to the gym and exercising long after the New Year's crowd has quit. Please follow these tips and made continuous with the fitness activities, and keep track of your burning fat and building muscle workouts.

Photos: You must take pictures regularly to keep track of your progress in your fitness activities. You may be surprised how big a motivation factor pictures really are. Pictures can be very inspirational! Regardless of what you think of those magazines, having a picture to look at is helpful in letting your mind capture an image of what you want. Once your mind has the image, you will start to take actions in life to accomplish that. I recall when I wanted my first motorcycle, I used visualization techniques. I kept looking at the pictures over and over each night. Eventually I got my motorcycle! This worked for getting a new car, a house and just about everything else. Once I could visualize what I wanted, my mind helped take actions to set mybody in motion.

Set Small Goals: Sometimes it much easier to think of getting around the next corner then it is to look at the big picture. When I hiked Yosemite's Half-Dome, I used many small goals to keep me going. Rather than look at my final objective all the time, I used land markers to keep me going from one point to another. A technique you can use at the gym. Set weekly goals (1 lb a week) rather than looking at what you want to accomplish a year from now.

Music: A classic motivator. Personally it distracts me. But for many, their favorite mix jam is just what they need to get into the zone and feel amped up. If you like music and it doesn't bother you at all, then consider it for an extra boost when you don't feel like working out. Music can easily put you into the mood.
Workout Partners: The best motivation is somebody else with a like goal that wants to accomplish what you want as well. When you feel down and out and not really into it, this person might pull you along. When you can't get that last rep out, they are there to give you a spot. It's so much easier to have a training partner you can trust that motivates you. If they are a little competitive that might not hurt either. You can both use each other's energy to push yourself. When you are accountable for something, it's harder to back out.
Classes: Many people want to workout but feel without structure, they just get lost and bored. Being in a class can really help focus in on your goals with structured objectives in mind. If you don't like working out alone, a class might be an idea option. Especially when you don't know where to being and you like the idea of instruction.

Personal Trainer: A times they get a bad rap, but if you find a good one, then paying for a mentor is precisely what you need. Shelling out $70 or more for a package of training sessions can really motivate you to keep going. They are also your paid training partner. They can help push you and adjust your program for progressive resistance and growth. Not only are you accountable (spending money) but a good personal trainer can help design you a program and nutritional plan that meets your needs. Everybody should have a personal trainer at some point. Their watchful eye on your exercise form is critical as well. Not all personal trainers are worth their weight in gold so be aware and find somebody you like and trust.

Make a new routine: One of my favorite motivational technique to do is try something new. When your routine becomes boring and stagnant, there's nothing like trying new stuff to spice it up and keep you interested. You are engaging in fitness for life. That doesn't mean you have to do the same old boring routine for the rest of your life! Having a new plan of action can keep you mentally fresh and your body challenged. These are just some of the techniques you can use to keep yourself motivated in the short term. How to make it to the gym day in and day out no matter what the weather is like or how you feel (unless you are sick of course).
